It’s easy to look at the world’s environmental challenges and feel like there’s no way one person can make a difference. But when you buy a product from our website, you’re doing just that. You’re effectively joining forces with TRINITY, our customers, and a global organization planting trees around the world.
Through our partnership with One Tree Planted, your purchase helps to restore forests, which counteract the effects of climate change, create habitats for biodiversity, and make positive social impacts around the world. In fact, our customers have helped plant 26,139 trees in critical regions since the launch of our program in March of 2022.
Here’s how it works:
Trees offer a whole host of benefits for nature, people and wildlife. In fact, the United Nation’s International Resource Panel says well-planned reforestation and related land restoration activities have the ability to create powerful positive impacts for ALL 17 of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Trees help clean the air we breathe, filter the water we drink, and provide a habitat for over 80% of the world's biodiversity. (Did you know just one tree can be home to hundreds of species of insects, fungi, moss, mammals, and plants?) Trees also help counteract the effects of climate change and improve our physical and mental health. And they generate a number of positive social impacts—from jobs to food to medicine.
Michoacán, Mexico is known as the nesting site for vulnerable Monarch butterflies. But the number of Oyamel trees where they nest has declined due to overuse and climate change. New trees will help preserve the Monarch species and fresh water sources for the local community, which depends economically on visitors who come from around the world to see this beloved habitat.
In parts of Alberta, Canada, where land has been cleared for cropland and cattle pastures, a mix of white spruce, black spruce, and jack pines is immediately helping with soil stability. As the trees grow, they will provide cover for migratory songbirds, raptors, owls, moose, elk, deer, and black bear, increasing biodiversity locally and regionally.
The Corridors for Life project in São Paulo, Brazil is restoring a public forest encroached on by ranching and sugarcane operations. By working with settlers, landowners, and government agencies, this initiative promotes sustainable agriculture and long-term forest restoration.
Here in the United States, planting longleaf pines in southern Alabama benefits 36 threatened or endangered species, including the gopher tortoise. A key part of this project involved educating private landowners in underserved counties—74% said they wanted to increase wildlife habitats but lacked the know-how and resources.
