Getting (and Staying) Organized this Holiday Season

Posted by Rachel Crippin Clark on 18th Nov 2024

The holiday season has famously been dubbed “the most wonderful time of the year.” But all the gift-giving, parties, special events and travelling (or hosting) that comes along with it can make even the most organized person’s head spin.

Enter TRINITY’s top tips to help you get and stay organized this holiday season.

We’ve pulled together some ideas and inspiration to help simplify your holiday to-do list. To contain the clutter. To reign in the hustle and bustle. After all, it’s hard to feel the joy when you’re not sure if you’re coming or going, or where anything is.

Baking

Nothing compares to the smell and taste of freshly baked cookies. But there’s nothing that says you have to make 10 different kinds for the holidays. Try surveying your family on their favorites to see if making just a few recipes will do the trick. You may be surprised.

We also recommend scheduling a good day to prepare them. (Nothing takes the joy out of delicious treats like cramming in the cooking at the last minute when you’re tired or pressed for time.) Also, a sliding bakeware organizer like ours will help you feel calmer and more collected when trying to find and store those special pieces of cookware.

Keeping Track of Gifts

Have you ever lost a gift for someone after you bought it? It’s easy to do, especially with sales starting earlier in the season. With this in mind, we recommend designating one easily accessible area of your home where all gifts go before they get wrapped.

If you’ve got a little floor space, a 5 shelf shelving rack can offer a big lift. We’ve actually got a wide variety of racks with adjustable shelves so you can stow gifts of different shapes and sizes. Tip: If you need to hide presents from curious family members, put them inside the containers you emptied of decorations…and then put the containers back on the shelf. No one will have any idea.

Gift Ideas

Speaking of presents, our new sister company – RENEW – has some unique items perfect for gifting this year. These handcrafted cutting boards, serving trays and coasters are not only attractive and practical, but they have an interesting environmental story to tell. Yes, the RENEW line of products is made from 100% reclaimed chopsticks.

You can impress just about everyone on your list with their eye-catching designs and craftsmanship. (Who doesn’t love one-stop shopping?) But they’ll also surely be impressed by a unique gift that not only stands out, but also stands up to climate change.

Wrapping Stations

When you’re ready to start wrapping, a dedicated area with all the tools you need can be your best friend. Our “kitchen” carts or kitchen islands with shelves make excellent wrapping stations. (You can also choose from a variety of styles, finishes and storage options.) They’re highly versatile and mobile, so you can easily find another role for them in another room once the holidays are over. If a dedicated surface for wrapping would be helpful, consider one of our adjustable height work tables.

We also recommend keeping a running list of supplies needed and updating it at the end of each season so you can be prepared for the next one. Don’t forget the little things like tape, tags or tissue paper.

One last tip: Start your holiday season on the right foot during our early Black Friday sale. From November 15-26, 2004, some of our best-selling home and organization solutions will be available for 30% off.
