Taking Full Advantage of Fall Fun

Bring on the football, the bonfires, and the cozy sweaters.
Even though fall technically doesn’t start until the autumn equinox – Sept 23 this year, most people we know are feeling like another summer has come and gone.
And whether you’re bummed out by this or feeling a little relieved (or a mix of both), saying good-bye to summer doesn’t mean the good times need to end.
Celebrate Fall
No matter if you’re a diehard NFL fan or simply like to support your alma mater, football watch parties are a great excuse for a fall gathering. You can keep it simple by asking everyone to bring some finger food to share, or maybe even challenging friends and family to a friendly chili cook-off.
And football is just the beginning. If you’re feeling festive, you could try your hand at an Oktoberfest style party. If you’re looking for something more mellow, a big bonfire and some smores fixings will fit the bill.
When it gets closer to October, pumpkins will start to take center stage. We know someone who gathers all their neighbors together to carve, paint, or do any number of amazingly creative things to decorate their pumpkins. Even if you’re not especially crafty yourself, it’s a wonderful way to celebrate the season.
Lighten the Load
Hosting a fall gathering doesn’t have to involve a ton of work. You can keep it simple by editing food and drink options, sticking to a buffet or self-serve style, and not hesitating to ask people to pitch in.
We offer a number of kitchen carts and stainless steel prep tables that can be used as buffet or activity stations, and many of them come with casters so they can easily be transported from room to room. The same goes with our rolling cooler carts. (Some even have a detachable cooler, and some come with Foosball covers – perfect for entertaining on game day.)
If you can use some attractive but portable seating options, consider stools like our swivel stools, which are as at home in your kitchen or bar area as they are in your garage or basement.
Lean into Comfy and Cozy
Yes, fall often means cooler weather, coats, and maybe even – gasp – boots. But that doesn’t mean you can’t lean into the comfy and coziness of it all. Taking some time to do a comprehensive shift of your clothes helps you feel more prepared for cooler weather (and gives you some time to appreciate favorite sweaters).
It always helps if your entryway is ready for coats, shoes and boots. After all, strategically placed coat hooks and shoe racks can help take the sting out of having to layer up a little more.We offer a number of shoe organizers in different sizes, finishes and EcoStorage® styles, including this shoe storage bench with baskets which gives you a convenient place to sit while you pull on those shoes or boots. If you’re looking for a stylish home for coats, you may like this Mid-Century entryway coat rack.
